Tadasana (Palm Tree Pose)
Based Position: Stand with the feet together or about 10 cm apart.
Starting Position: Keep fingers interlocked on top of the head. Palms face upward. Look forward by focusing at a particular point.
Moving In: Stretch the arms up and stand on your toes with inhalation. After keeping body stretched in the final position for a few seconds, come back with exhalation into starting position. Repeat this for 10 to 15 times.
Awareness: On fixed point in front, stretching of legs muscles, spinal cord, internal organs, shoulders. Breathe synchronization with stretching, balance on toes.
Benefits: This asana develops physical and mental balance. The entire spine is stretched and loosened up, helping to clear up congestion and stiffness of spinal nerves emerging from spinal column. It also helps stretching abdominal muscles, intestine, calf, hamstring muscles to give relaxation in each and every muscles of the body.
