Divine Yoga is committed in our vision to improve the physical, mental and spiritual health of all people. We firmly believe Yoga is for everybody. For those who have physical challenges, yoga is a way of self-empowerment by turning the challenges to abilities, and to boost confidence and their overall well-being.
Yoga sessions for the hearing impaired members of the Deaf Association of Thailand was first initiated on the occasion of the International Yoga Day, 21st June 2016. Since then, we are pleased to continue to provide Yoga sessions for this dynamic and enthusiastic group of students.
Master Sanjiv, the Director at Divine and a specialist for therapeutic yoga, designed a sequence of practices best suited for those who are hearing impaired. Termed the “Yoga for Hearing Impaired”, the sequence consists of physical, breathing and relaxation practices. This original sequence allows the teacher to connect with the students through the practice of silence yoga and guide the students to quiet their minds. Sign language interpreters assisted in conducting the class so that the students could gain a better understanding of the practices.
Immediate positive responses could immediately be felt among the group. The students’ joyous smiles, laughter and, higher levels of relaxed energies after the session exemplified the power of yoga. Check out our story on our Facebook page here with VDO testimonials (1) and (2).
What do students think about this class?
"Always do good to others. Be selfless. Mentally remove everything and be free. This is divine life." Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati
